International Cuisine:

A couple of buddies (who were pretty hard core, in retrospect) and I went to a local restaurant in Abu Dhabi.

We got there and sat in a booth by a window, near the door.

There was a big salad in the middle of the table. Red and green lettuce of various types. We munched on it before and during the meal. No dressing, just greens.

We looked at the menu (entirely written in Arabic, but my Arabic wasn't so bad) so we ordered and got basically what we wanted.The meal was good, not great, but good.

When the check came, it was significantly more expensive than we had expected.

Gardens are difficult to grow and very respected in the middle east.

We had eaten the centerpiece.
